See you in two weeks!

Posted on August 31st, 2008 at 9:57pm - Comments disabled for this entry.

The lists have been finalised, the extras I needed to buy have all been bought and the packing has all-but been completed. Tomorrow, Montgomery II, Lappy and my glasses (I'm kind of wearing them at the moment, so can't pack them just yet) will be packed away.

Then, I'm off.

See you lot in two weeks! :)

This time next week...

This time next week, Myke and I will be in Perranporth. Our "home" will be a little caravan and we will be spending our days doing Nothing. Right now, that totally deserves a capital letter.

The sad little thing that I am, I have been writing lists for the past two weeks.
There's the List Of Things To Take. Then there's the List Of Things I Would Like To Take But Probably Shouldn't and the List Of Things I Would Like To Take But Probably Won't Fit In My Little Suitcase With Wheels. And let's not forget the List Of Things I Don't Have To Take But Probably Should.
I love lists.

I've got the necessities together, like all the stuff people use when they're naked. Like soap, shampoo, shower gel and a towel. And some other stuff.
Saturday will be spent washing all of my clothes. Yes, I will be bringing along my entire wardrobe. Unfortunately, my Entire Wardrobe consists of three pairs of jeans and about ten tops, including my hoodies. I think I will also be spending my Saturday buying a few more items to put in my wardrobe.

Also. I need to buy some Wellington Boots^, for when I go to the beach. I need something to protect my feet from that nasty orangey-yellow grainy stuff on the beach. (What's the name of that stuff again? It begins with S, I know that. I'm thinking SATAN but I know it's not.)
Last year, I ruined a perfectly good pair of black Uggs (not the proper ones, a cheap pair, thankfully) and I STILL managed to get that stuff stuck all over my toes and - oh, I feel dirty and gross just thinking about it.

I've already bought myself a tripod for Montgomery II and a case. Not the £25 case I ordered last week, though! The site I ordered it off said that they were "awaiting stock", so I had doubts over whether I would get the spiffy made-for-Montgomery-II case. Myke suggested just going without a case and I swear, I damn near had a heart attack. My precious baby, out in that nasty sea-salty air, all unprotected? No.
So, I went and bought a "cheap" £10 one from Tesco yesterday.
When I went to check my emails earlier, guess what the first one said?!

So yes. So excited. Can't wait. Will have no internet connection. You lot get a holiday too. :)

OMG Updates!!!

Posted on August 18th, 2008 at 8:44pm - Comment on 'OMG Updates!!!'.

I actually got up off my arse for once and updated the site. :)

LWOB got quite a big update.
In June 2007, LWOB had a security scare, where it would have been possible for someone to exploit your user accounts, using a hole in the script. Unfortunately, the problem wasn't limited to my script; most button / image linking scripts (including topsite scripts and ad rotations) could also be a risk. It's up to you to use the scripts but you really must know what you could be letting yourself in for. The type of attack is called a CSRF attack^.

The good news is that I've removed the part of the script which automatically shows the user's chosen image. Instead, they give you the URL to their page full of link buttons to choose and you choose one. You can also upload the button/s within the script, as you're approving the request. :)

The upload script checks that the file type is an accepted type (jpg or gif - NO pngs!) and is less than 350kb. It also checks that the image is a valid image. If any or all of these are untrue, the image is deleted from the server. :)

Anyway, if anyone finds any errors, please let me know. My email address is mail @ lirae.net - I should be back online on Wednesday (although it'll be brief).
