Christmas stuff and Sam

Posted on December 28th, 2006 at 1:48am

Christmas Eve:
Every Christmas Eve, my mum takes me, my brother and my sister down to some social club to see our nan. We hate it there; it's so boring. Mum and the older members of the family sit in one corner, by the bar and everyone else in the family is sat in the opposite corner. There is no point in us being there since we don't actually speak to our nan, except for when it's time to leave.

I don't remember much of Christmas Eve, since I started on the Bailey's (alcoholic drink) at noon, I hadn't eaten anything for a couple of days and I'm a bit of a "lightweight" anyway. (A lightweight is someone who can get drunk really quickly and easily. ;))

Sam came down at about 4ish; he picked me up from the social club.

He rung me to say that he was outside, so I started gathering my things and saying goodbye to family members, etc. I'm totally drunk by this point so I'm *mwah!*ing people and shouting "I LOVE YOU!" to everyone, my mum had decided to start quizzing me on Sam earlier in front of various family members, so two of my aunties are all "we're coming with you to meet this Sam guy!" and I'm going "Nooo! Mum! Stop them!" - manic!
As I'm getting outside, I almost walk into a family friend and into the door, finally get outside and I see Sam. I go to give Sam a hug and apparently (and it's not just him saying this), I almost fell into him doing that (lost my balance ;)). I then here someone yelling "Keggs!", so I turn around and there's two of my aunties, plus an uncle, plus two cousins all watching and waving at us. Sam, starts waving back so I drag him off back to his car.

We go back to the pub we went to before (it's called "The Bank") but it's full; no seats. So we go to the Barbican to find a pub there but there are issues with some of the ticket machines but we end up going to this pub which I think is called "The Skin" (I'm sure it had "Skin" in the name). It's noisy in there and kind of packed but there were still plenty of seats available, so we decide to stay there.
We sat in the corner, chatting and keeping to ourselves. Everything's fine until some bloke comes over to ask me for a kiss (you can read about that on KawaiiVille if you want^). Sam takes me off to find another pub.

We find this lovely little pub; it's really quiet, there's a fire and although everyone's nuts, they're all really friendly.
We stay in there for a few hours before I have to go home. (Mother's worrying. ;))

Christmas Day:
I was woken up at 8:30am because both mum and Pete had been up since 5am and were too excited to wait any longer.
Everyone got lots of cool presents, even Crookshanks, who got a catnip cracker which made him go psycho!

It was a nice day but at the same time, it was boring, since none of us really did anything. Although I did watch "She's The Man" and "The Pacifier".

Boxing Day & Today:
The only interesting things to happen in the last two days is that I met up with Sam during the evenings. :p
We spent the last two nights in our not-so-local local (as I like to call it, since neither one of us knows the name of the pub). The bar guy has come to recognise us...I think that the next time we go in, he'll see us coming and then have our drinks ready for us before we even enter the door. Wouldn't that be cool?

During lunch time today, I got a text off Sam saying that he might come down either today or tomorrow, the next text said that if he comes over tonight, then we could go and see a film.
He asks me to pick the film, I pick "A Night At The Museum" (the new Ben Stiller one). He decides that he is coming down and picks me up at 7:15pm.

We get to the cinema and he drives around looking for a parking space. There's six cars, including us and there are no parking spaces! We can't see the film and decide to go back to our not-so-local local.
We sit there, drinking, chatting and laughing at the bar guy being all nutty and weird with two of the customers, until about 10:30ish, when the bar guy decides to close (most pubs I've been to don't do last orders until 11:30 and most don't close before 12).
Sam and I end up going to the Plymouth Argyle car park and just sit in the car chatting until almost 11:30, when he drives me back home, thinking that my mum's going to hate him for keeping me out so late, heh.

When we were saying goodbye, he actually asked me if I was going to blog about him. I said I would...and I did what I said I would do. ;)

(Who else thinks that Sam likes getting his ego stroked via my blog? :P)
